The low carb beer thing is an interesting topic…interestingly enough I used to drink Pure Blonde and the like all the time – then last year I discovered strong trappist beers and double IPAs…needless to say I haven’t had a low carb beer since. It’s not worth it to me anymore!

It was available for a long time but exporting to Australia was stopped about 18 months ago as they couldn’t keep up with demand in the US and Canada. Trois Pistoles and chocolate brownies is a sensation!

Troi Pistoles is seriously amazing – I’m a sucker for all things Unibroue. I haven’t seen it in Australia though (just Canada, and even then, it’s hard to find outside of Quebec!) – have you?

Brewers are dictating demand and not the drinkers. They want a beer that covers a broad range and a beer that wont offend. That’s why majors brewers stick to this watery formula. It’s about making money and not a better beer.

http://beermatt.com/category/history/ has a reference to a couple of old Germany language beer ads … I have a very old XXXX road side sign with same label and bottle hand painted . It states ” Ice Cold XXXX Bottled Beer” When did the same label on tall bottles appear as depicted in those ads … (with bottle next label.) Plan to sell sign. Want to be able state “cira “xyz” year” Any ideas on age?

I had kept a bottle of Deus for around 8 years and cracked in 2009, lovely stuff but agingn doesn’t seem to make a terrible amount of difference given the style i would have thought so. Must try a newr bottle!

I live in Mentone Vic. & would like to know where the nearest outlet is to buy Baltika 3 beer. I very much like its taste. Dan Murphy no longer stocks this.
